    Spains best white wine ?

    Ver mensaje de rayol

About to arrive in my adopted homeland.
Got a lot of work to do in my new home.
Expect it to be thirsty work.
And at the end of the day my wife and I could probably do with a chilled bottle of white as we survey the dust and paint !
So verema (ites) what wine should it be.
Keeping in mind the bank owns half the house keep suggestions reasonable !

    saludos

    Only half the house?

    You´re lucky dude! ;)))
Well, I wouldn’t look for the best spanish wine, but for the best in that environment. So hard homework and high temperatures.
I’d bet for Verdejo and of course Cava, just a bit of indulging yourselfs ;))))

    Cheers,

    Jose

Ok good point on the fino
but I was thinking white table wines.
I have very little experience of them other than a few from Rueda
    any suggestions ?

    Hi there,

    Where do you live?

If it is in Spain, you may enjoy very good Ruedas, Penedès, Montsants, Priorats, Rías Baixas, and so....

    My favourites:
    -Màrtius (Montsant)
    -Odysseus (Priorat)
    -Gramona (Penedès)
    -Jean Leon (Penedès)
-D Pedro de Soutomaior (Rías Baixas)
    -Aura (Rueda)
    -Palacio de Bornos(Rueda)

And of course, for me, THE white: Mas d’en Compte (Priorat)

About cavas, at once I can think about Jané Ventura, Gramona, Colet, Montferrant, Bertha, Raventós i Blanc, Agustí Torelló, etc...

    Salut!

I don’t know many Spanish white table wines which can compare with a manzanilla, in quality, complexity, freshness and, above all, price.

But for those extremely rare moments when manzanilla doesn’t seem right (breakfast?), I’d probably go for a Rueda, or Viña Sol. Don’t know the Mas d’en Compte yet, unfortuantely - think it might be hard to find in S Spain?

Imagine to wake up at 11:00-12:00 AM... yaaaaaawning... Take a glass of orange juice and a couple of sips.... Hmmm... that great jamon serrano over the counter is calling youuuu.... yum, yum.... And here are you, with a knife, a great jamon serrano... and some sips of manzanilla/fino... Have a nice breakfast!!! ;))))

    Regards,

    Jose
