Wine & holidays...
Wine & holidays...
Ver mensaje de joseHi all,
most of you are on holidays right now or you’ll be
no so far of having some days for resting.
Well, what do you do on holidays?
Do you drink more wine? less wine? or maybe
you use your holidays to meet some wineries or
wine producers...
So what do you do?
By the way, I won’t have holidays (agaaaain) this
year so you can guess my thoughts :-((((
Regards,
Jose

Ver mensaje de joseIf I go to the Mediterranean, I like to try as much local wine as possible. Don’t get to visit wineries unfortunately, as I don’t drive. But when I go to the tropics, I take it as a detox!
Re: Wine & holidays...
Ver mensaje de joseI rest… and that’s nice too ;-))) I drink as usual, on average 1 bottle, mostly “generosos”, whites and rosés (including, of course, cava & champagne). My consumption of red wine falls dramatically…. For visiting cellars I prefer other season of the year however from time to time I use my holidays to do some visits….
Cheers!!

Ver mensaje de suikoForgive me for the indiscretion but ….where in the Mediterranean? ;-))
Re: Wine & holidays...
Ver mensaje de joseWell, I’m spending my holidays in Colorado, and here the wine is more expensive than in Spain, but there are a lot of wine shops with wine from all over the world and I’m trying to taste as munch as I can.
Re: Wine & holidays...
Ver mensaje de joseI do not take ’long’ regular vacations -at most some few days around a meeting or such, so I do not know if this qualifies. Certainly, I do take a slower pace, sleep lots, and work only on ’fun’ and rewarding things. My wine consumption is about the same, maybe a bit higher since I have more social activities (more dinners out). While I am in Spain, I drink bassically whites and some rose (and very little red); I also like cava a lot (but I need company for that); strangely, my consumption of generosos drops a lot too (weeiiirrddd ...). If I’m in the States (as I am now), then since they use the Air Conditioned (or A.C., as they call them here) basically to freeze people alive, then I turn again to reds very frequently (as well as to coats, gloves, hats ... ;)). If I am in any other country which I do not visit frequenly, I tend to drink basically local wines (I did that even in Turkey, India, Israel ... )

Ver mensaje de MaJesusWhen traveling outside of the US, I always try to drink the local wines. In the US, I am all over the map. However, even with the the frigid climate that the A.C. blows into the houses in the summer, I tend to drink lots of Roses and thirst quenching whites.
