Fivamel, the Valencian Honey Fair comes to Montroy 6/8 November 2009.
Montroy a pretty little Valencian town half an hour out of the city, will hold the annual Valencian honey fair this weekend.
The fair is a collaboration between local honey producers, the Government and the town hall amongst others and brings together exhibitors to what is a rather more comprehensive gastronomy fair and medieval street market.
Apart from the obvious opportunity to taste local honey's made from the flowers and nectar of rosemary, orange etc and the associated wax and royal jelly products there will be other exhibitors whose e.g. bread and cake products have been made using honey. Last year a cookery book was given to all attending including recipes for local traditional meals using honey as an ingredient.
Also exhibiting will be health food and natural product producers as well as cheese, olive oil, wine, sausage and other meat products , local bakers etc.
More information ( in Valenciano ) available at www.fivamel.com
Montroy's streets will also be thronged with many stalls at the medieval market displaying the usual range of artesan produce available.
