2001 TorreSilo in the next virtual tasting
Ver mensaje de Juan SuchTomorrow (well, today right now in Spain :-) we have our next virtual tasting with a great wine: 2001 TorreSilo. This will be the commercial debut of this wine from Cillar de Silos winery, a rising star in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. I have tried this wine some months before and is terrific but needs a lot of bottle (or air right now).
Tanzer seems to agree in his Jul/Aug 03 TN: ";Big, rich and supersweet but youthfully clenched, even a bit musclebound. Very primary, intense flavors of dark berries and menthol supported by a firm spine of acidity. A powerfully tannic, very backward wine with impressive extract. I’d hold this at least five or six years. 90(+?) points";
It will be interesting to see if this wine can get a better collective rating than Aalto 2000, the best rated wine in a virtual tasting until now.
