Sherry again
I don’t know (yet... ;-)
Ver mensaje de GastronautaBut I think that these kind of wines (Xeres-Jerez-Sherry I mean) are like discover a new world... maybe the moon... But knowing the ";en rama"; is like the hidden side of the moon...
I’ll try to keep a close eye to these wines... At this very moment I’ve been bitten with the curiosity ";en rama"; bug ;)))
Cheers,

Ver mensaje de GastronautaFor a wine that’s usually touted as ";less serious"; (in spite of its VORS status) due to such easygoing sweetness, I liked this a good deal last night. From a 416/15-shaped stem, mildly chilled and waited for, this was my first try, and did not disappoint me at all. Noticeably sweet, indeed this may be easier than such serious--now read ";complex";--examples as Sibarita (redolent of PX too, but only marginally so), but I loved its coffee-chocolate nose. Great solera aromatics and excellent mouthfeel once air and temperature reach its (elusive) optimum balance. 91
Ehem... I’ve got (too) a total lack of knowledgment of...
Ver mensaje de GastronautaStemware... What looks like a ’416/15’ :-?
Ciao,
Jose
Sorry...
Ver mensaje de jose416/15 is Riedel’s Riesling/Chianti stem, my all-purpose tasting glass and IMHO a far more adequate size and shape for most sherry than the miserable ’copita’.
All you have to remember is that in this glass you need to serve sherry slightly cooler than usual and wait for it (and when you nose it you might as well remember that it’ll be a 16-20% alcohol creature that does NOT demand poking your nose inside the glass: better a tentative approach!)

Thx for the explanation and another question...
Ver mensaje de GastronautaThe numbers 416/15 are the height/overture of the stem?
Thx and regards,
Jose
