Yes,well...he is a bit ’in your face’ with hints of ’what a lucky boy am I’! isn’t he? It is really only worth opening the young bottles if you are having a vertical tasting to compare development and learn something about the ageing process and a particular property. This was all a bit gratuitous.

Still , it is nice to find a good excuse to open a few old bottles occasionally although I always think it’s more fun with good food and a couple of friends who enjoy older wines as well.
