    First press red- clairette ??

Someone I know in Spain loves 'clairette' (spelling ?)
I understand this to be different from a rosado, is it ?
Do (m)any bodegas produce it ?

I think you mean 'clarete'. Hmmm... maybe someother forumites can give you better info, but af as I know it was an old kind of vinification. I think it's still allowed in some DOs, but I wouldn't bet my hand... Maybe in DO Cigales?

    Cheers,

    Jose

Right, a clarete is not a rosado. The differences are in the kind of vinification. According to this link
    https://www.verema.com/foros/foro-vino/temas/39740-rosado-y-clarete#respuesta_39825

(despite I think you've a very good spanish I translate it just in case any other english reader doesn't understand the content of this link)

The rosado (rosé) macerates with skins and all the fuss and is vinified as a white wine (fermentation without them). The claret is vinified as a red wine, however adding white grapes or making a partial fermentation with the skins.

    Hope this helps,

    Jose

The word 'Claret' for english native speakers is related to red wines that comes, historically, from Bordeaux, isn't it?

    Regards,

    Jose
