Deep red colour. Quite a smokey nose, some pepper also. In the mouth quite unctuous and thick. And surprisingly tasted a little "tired". I was disappointed and left the wine for about 4 hours. On retasting the wine had improved vastly.
The tiredness was gone and now there was a lovely velvety mouthfeel. More fruit to the fore with a sweetness on the finish. Also some minerality. The alcohol (14.9%) slightly noticable but not overpowering.
