A pleasant enough nose of blackcurrants, plums, black cherries, coffee and China ink, with a raisiny vibe to the whole. Big and backward in the mouth, almost painfully primary. The finish is overpowered by the chewiness of the tannins and a lack of acidity is worrisome. I’d like to retaste this in a few years (but perhaps that assumes too much...).
