Medium weight in the mouth, with forward lemon, kumquat and green apple fruit backed up by strong mineral character. Long and beautifully structured. In his shelf-talker at Astor Wines, my friend Jeff Connell described this as “Veltliner done as Muscadet.” I can see how this would be a very mighty, brazen brother to one of Marc Olivier’s wines, say.
