Rivendel 3º Año

Full-bodied, deep black cherry colour, abundant long legs. 

On the nose fresh red and black fruits, with that hint of 'Rowentrees' fruit gums, plum, raspberry and strawberry, mountain scrub and herbs, black pepper and toobacco leaf. 

In the mouth, lively acidity is balanced with round tannins, a good structure, notes from the oak, well-integrated alcohol and a mineral note in a long finish. This needs time in bottle. 

(I had the opportunity to re-taste this after 24 hours. The wine had opened out, and was rich, and better balanced.)
