Le Domaine Tempier élabore l'un des meilleurs rouges de Bandol, mais ne produit pas de blanc : son rosé est une réussite, épicé & juteux, étoffé, raffiné & complexe - notes de pamplemousse rose, de pépites de grenade, de melon de Cavaillon & de poivre blanc - d'une qualité rare en Provence & comparable à celui de Pradeaux. Pale pink/peach and showing 13.5% alcohol on the label. The nose reminded me of Elderflowers and a flower which the others nailed as Acacia, as well as raspberry. A slightly sweet start, with a few waves of subtle red fruits, but a distracting presence of alcohol on the mid palate and the finish. The fruit element of this wine was more watery than I remember and this is the weakest showing of this rose I have tried. It’s the first time I am trying the vintage and we were left wondering what the problem was. No sign of TCA, did the heat wave in 2003 have something to do with it? Not rated.
