Produced by Manfred Frankel and made from 100% syrah (13.5% alcohol). Opaque plum red, the very ripe black fruits are mixed up with lashings of new oak and aniseed. On the palate, it’s thick, chewy with highly extracted dark fruits, lots of acidity and drying tannins. My first experience with this producer and I believe it is an acquired taste. I am not sure how long it will take to soften out its edges but it still seems youthful. Not rated.
