A chance to try this wine should not be missed as it seems to polarise opinions. Opaque plum purple, the fruit seem to be overwhelming the new oak at present when I sniffed it several times. Definitely brimming with fruit, for my palate this was not the ‘fruit syrup’ comments I had read about from fellow wine drinkers. There is bright acidity and the tannins are ripe but the finish certainly shows a dryness to it. Although just about drinkable now with a huge slab of meat, this needs at least 5-7 years of further bottle age to tame its wild side.
